I was walking through the dreaded hallways in high school, it may seem dramatic but it wasn’t very fun for someone like me. I could see people whispering about me; trying not to make it obvious. Judging my height as I walk through the hallway I notice everyone looking at me from bottom to top. I’m sort of used to it, everyone whispering about me thinking I don’t notice; I wasn’t really annoyed or concerned about anyone’s thoughts on me but in high school they wouldn’t stop bugging me about it.

I was heading towards science class as I walked in to open the door I saw my lifetime enemies, I walked past with my head down and suddenly I heard “Laani” and I slightly turned my head and said “Yes” they smirked and said “hold the door for us please” I sighed and said “Sure”. I went into class after them not being very happy about it, I sat down and the teacher said we are doing a project and we will be in groups of three; everyone started choosing their groups but suddenly he said he will be choosing; everyone moaned and sighed, I was sadly put with my enemies Michelle and Alison they were known as the pretty bullies because they were pretty but mean.

We started our project and I pretty much did everything while they sat there taking selfies and being antisocial. The bell rang and we left, Michelle and Alison said we will meet up at interval to check on our project; a few minutes later we all met up to show our project Michelle wanted to be a know it all and put a liquid in our project, it exploded everywhere but most of it came on us. 10 seconds later we shrunk into mini people; Michelle and Alison were scared to death while I was happy that I was finally the same height as others. I felt like a normal child, I’ve always been bullied by them for being just as tall as them. We got into an argument and they wanted to go somewhere else because they furious at me because I didn’t really mind that I was this small; we split up and they went their own way.

I saw this mini house on the window cell I went and thought it was impossible that someone else was this small. I knocked on the door and the door slightly opened I couldn’t believe who was on the other side of the door because I hadn’t seen her in years, I always thought she just vanished and didn’t want me. From the bottom of the shoe was black as the night sky, her legs were as skinny as my arms put together, her hair was so wavy moving side to side like the palm trees, her eyes were as blue as the deep blue sea. I couldn’t believe it was mother who I hadn’t seen for years; she glanced at me and looked into my eyes for a few seconds I looked at her necklace and saw that it was the other piece to mine. She wrapped her arms around me as tight as she could. She muttered her words and had no words for me.

She told me we need to find a way to get back to normal, I agreed she told me she wanted to get to know me as well as she should, I replied and agreed to what she said. She said she had been trying for years to get back to normal and she said she thinks we just need to put both our necklaces in and it will work, I took my necklace off and put it in she did and suddenly were turned back to normal. We got to know each other and lived in the same house and we were finally united as mother and daughter.

I absolutely think and feel that kids should not be payed for chores because their caregiver loves them with all their heart and everything they have, so the least you can do is something to help around the house. Love doesn’t come as gifts it comes naturally, your caregivers don’t get paid to do chores or anything to love and care about you. Kids should do it out of respect.

My second reason why I don’t think kids should get paid for doing chores is because kids shouldn’t be paid for doing things they should be doing out of love and respect, their families do everything for them and they should just do it out of respect and love. Your parents always care and love you so you can repay them by doing chores.

Your parents are pretty much training you for adulthood. When you grow up your parents won’t be there to do everything for you. They are teaching you how to do things for yourself.

For most islanders cleaning is out of respect and it is a tradition. Islanders see it as normal to do chores and not the parents or caregivers because it’s just respect.

Laani stayed up till 3:00 in the morning just to watch the Netball World Cup 2019 Finals. She was so nervous for the Silver Ferns , they haven’t won the Netball World Cup in 16 years.

The first quarter commended; New Zealand had the ball first; Laani wanted the Silver Ferns to win. She was as determined for them to win. The Silver Ferns were down by 2 points, but they worked extra hard to catch up and Laani really admired that.

The second quarter proceeded and the Silver Ferns were in the lead; they were seven points ahead of Australia. The second quarter ended and the Silver Ferns ended it with two points.

The break eventually concluded and the third quarter began. Australia tried to catch up but the Silver Ferns were still in the lead by two points.

The final quarter began and Laani was so nervous and the Silver Ferns would not give up; the Silver Ferns wanted to win so badly; they ended up winning and Laani was so satisfied and honoured.

Tuesday night games

We were all in room 9, we were all so nervous for our game. All of us went in the cars with Matua Fou and Whaea Marie, Whaea Maxine and Taylor’s parents.

We knew that we were versing the champions from last year, that’s why we were full of nerves.

The game began and we did play very good we were up by 3 but we didn’t want to take that for granted, we wanted to keep it that way.

The second quarter started and we started off very good, the passing was so bad it was either too high or too low, and our points dropped. The quarter ended and than Matua Fou gave us a pep talk to encourage us.

Beep! The buzzer went off for the third quarter and all the girls were so defeated and you could tell by their faces that we already lost. It was so bad and we never play like that, everyone just looked so defeated and I felt so bad because I knew we could do better. The quarter ended and the girls huddled in a circle we all looked defeated and Matua Fou tried to encourage us as much as he could for the next quarter.

The last quarter began and we already felt like we lost by our faces and the way everyone played. Everyone just gave up I guess, we could of did so good but we didn’t because we all just gave up.

We all recovered amd took the lost as good losers and than we went away and learnt from it.

Tuesday Night Game

On the Tuesday, 11th June, 2019 the CPS Panthers were ready for one of their hardest games. We sat in room 9 waiting for the time to pass by, we had a discussion of what we need to remember and work on, everyone’s attitude and vibes were very good.

The whole team was ready and excited because, we already versed them and we took the lost and learnt from it. We left in the cars and headed of to our game. We did want revenge on the Revelations but than again, we all just wanted to do better than the last time we versed them.

We got there and everyone got their hair done by Whaea Marie, we all did our hair and all that, than by the time we did that we were ready to warm up. The team went and did our power warm up. We did some drills, than it was time for the game.

The first quarter started and we were all excited and ready, we played alright but no to the best of our abilities, all of knew we could do way better than what we were doing. We kept going and the captains kept encouraging, the first quarter finished and than Matua Fou made some changes.

The second quarter began and than we played very well, everyone was talking and the teams energy was great, we worked well and wanted to make the quarter up to standards. The second quarter finished and we were satisfied at how we played. We didn’t want to be to confident sp we were just kept trying our best and kept encouraging each other.

The third quarter started and we played alright but it wasn’t the best, we went quiet and no one was talking, everyone just stopped the communication and just thought we were gonna do well but that didn’t happen. The third quarter finished and we all had a pep talk from Matua Fou.

The fourth quarter started and everyone was just finished, no one was talking, and everyone was tired, the last quarter finished and even though we lost, we were still happy that we did better than last time.

Me and my friends have been planning this for a very long period of time. We were so excited, we finally arrived and started climbing straight away because we were so excited to hurry up and start their journey and their adventure.

We were almost at the top of the mountain, but all of sudden we all looked down and saw a dinosaur skeleton, we weren’t scared because we thought it was cool seeing a dinosaur’s skeleton.

All of a sudden we see a green button, so we obviously push it, but nothing happened so we constantly push it, we suddenly feel a cold, windy breeze. We slowly look back and see that there is an alive dinosaur staring at us with it’s green big eyes, scaly rough skin, we didn’t try and try and hurt it because it was an adventure and we found this fun.

It was the holidays, and I didn’t want school to end because I knew I would miss my friends, sports and some of the teachers, but I was excited because my birthday was in the holidays.

I was at home and my Mum and Dad were out of town doing a business deal with their workmates. I was at home alone and anonymously, someone texted me and, saying  “I am going to ruin your birthday, tomorrow so watch out”.

I didn’t tell anyone because I didn’t think it was a big deal or serious, I went to sleep early because my birthday party was tomorrow.

The next day I woke up and got ready for my birthday party, I went downstairs and saw my friends and I really felt the love and that they cared for me.

Everyone that was invited turned up and everyone was having fun. I was surprised because my Mum and Dad actually showed up and they did surprise me.

My Mum and Dad showed me that they really do care and love me by turning up to my birthday party I was so happy but…. I did see a strange mysterious man wearing all black and he was very bolky, I was very suspicious because I literally had no idea who he was.

I walked upto to him feeling very awkward and strange and asked “Do I know you”? He said nothing and went into his pocket, he grabbed his phone and showed me that he was the person sending those text messages. He grabbed me and threw me into his car, he drove me to his house and shoved me down his basement.

I noticed that there were two other girls in the basement as well, I saw a knife and grabbed it, I waited until he came closer to me and when he did I stabbed him and he fell to the ground, I took the two other girls and we ran to my house. I told my Mum everything and she called the police straight away, the man did get arrested and the two girls went to their families. After that my I enjoyed the rest of my holiday.

There were five friends that have been together for a very long period of time. One day they had an idea to go on a adventure to Fiji they didn’t want to go during senior year because they didn’t want to miss any classes. Weeks passed by and then it was tie to head off for their journey they were very thrilled.

But one day when they were on a cruise boat, the captain asked if they wanted a drink of beer his voice was very low pitched, we then said “Not thanks” he said with a angry voice “Your having a beer” he said “NO” he grabbed my arm and said “HURRY UP!” he said, I then kicked him and ran to the roof of the boat I yelled to the others and said to “jump” me and my other friends jumped and the other two stayed on the boat and when my head camelol out of the water I heard two gunshots.

We swam back to the shore and when we got out we walked back onto the island and when we were walking back we saw something horrifying, we saw the two bodies of our other friends we screamed “HELP” and most of the village came to try and help but it wasn’t enough to help save them.

Narrative writing.

The town was called “Roseville” it was a kind, amazing, friendly and caring town. But that all changed when there was a murder, a 17-year-old QB(Quater back) with good grades had been murdered. Everyone in the town had known him, he was a kind-hearted young teenager, but he came from a dark-hearted family that didn’t get in the way of how he felt and acted. When everyone found out about the news the town changed and went from happy and cheerful to quiet and sad.

There were four main friends that were in love and had been going to the same school for years and all four of them are still in the same class and school. Their names were Devon and Tyler were in love and Trevor and Lavinia were in love they were all close friends with Ricky(The one who got murdered).

They followed all of his steps and tried to find any sort of clues to find out who it was, but one day the four friends found Ricky’s football jacket in an abandoned car that they found in the Sweetwater river forest. They took the jumper and checked all the pockets and they found a USB drive, they plugged it into the laptop and watched the terrifying video they burst into tears.
